A global insurance company is seeking an Underwriter, Property in its insurance team in Düsseldorf.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribution to profitability growth of the company’s portfolio by underwriting, and managing business of industrial and commercial property.
Managing existing relationships with clients and brokers while also developing new business opportunities.
Analyse individual account risk and ensure an appropriate pricing approach as well as proper utilization of capacities, ensuring business is conducted in accordance with the company’s philosophy and underwriting strategy.
Perform contract negotiation, attending and travelling to client meetings, presentations to customers and conducting underwriting reviews.
Ensure compliance with relevant underwriting policy, legal and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain strong and effective relationship with brokers, client and fronting partners in co-operation with other branch divisions as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
University graduate with a degree in business or law or technical degree
Alternatively, insurance business training, and/or further insurance or technical education
Min. 5 years of relevant professional experience in insurance industry, particularly in Property
Familiarity with risk assessment, analytics, pricing, underwriting, capital use and contract issues
Strong communication skills and preference to work in multi-cultural environment
Willingness to travel and flexibility with respect to work schedule
Language: Fluency in German and English
