COMPANY OVERVIEW
A rapidly expanding player in the European market, specialising in delivering innovative solutions related to chemicals particularly, across various industries. With a strong commitment to growth and excellence, they are seeking to enhance their Business Development and Sales Team by adding a dynamic and driven professional. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's international success and influence its strategic direction in the European region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of the European market based on specific sector criteria.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain high-level relationships with key decision-makers in the industry.
  • Identify and engage with buying centres and customer support functions, including Planning, Purchasing, R&D, and Finance departments.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, including production methods, to identify potential business opportunities.
  • Lead the development and coordination of identified opportunities in collaboration with other divisions and local subsidiaries.
  • Observe and report on market and competitive activity to inform strategic decisions.
  • Travel to customer locations within the EU to professionally present products, services, and pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records to support the development of sales forecasts for each account within the company’s system.
  • Generate and process new sales leads to drive business growth.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A university degree or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity with the ability to quickly grasp new solutions, technologies, and the value they bring to diverse buyers.
  • A passion for sales and building positive, long-lasting relationships.
  • Interest in working within an international organization and a global environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with distributed teams, demonstrating teamwork, networking, and collaboration skills.
  • Capability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in unstructured environments and situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all business levels.
  • Fluency in English is essential for this role, along with proficiency in another European language. German is a strong advantage. 
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the EU and internationally.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Experience working with Japanese companies or a strong understanding of Japanese business culture is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the European market dynamics and customer behaviour.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific production methods and market trends.
